There is only a few things that will usually cause a machine to trail shot.
We have come up with a sort of check list we call "The Five Fingers".
1. Check the condition of your wheel-kit. The wheel-kit is the heart of the machine and if it is not in good condition you need to replace. Needs to be inspected about every 40-50 hrs of use.
2. Check your dust collector for suction. Check to see if filters need replaced, holes in hoses, etc.
3. Incorrect control cage setting. You need to make sure control cage opening is set at about 8:30-10:30. If blast pattern is hitting harder on left side move control cage in 1/8" incriments to the left until blast pattern is blasting evenly the width of machine. If it's 8" machine, pattern should be even 8". If machine is 10", should be an even 10" and so on for each size machine.
4. Loose belts. This will not be the case in the 1-8DEZ machine because it will not have a belt. All other models you will need to check to see if all belts are tightened and adjusted correctly.
5. Blasting in the wrong direction. Shotblasters are not lawnmowers and it does make a difference in the direction you travel while blasting. Push machines only push forward when shot is being released. Self propelled machines will trail behind operator while blasting, not the machine in front of operator.
