Blastrac: The History
Blastrac began when centrifugal wheelblast (shot blast) cleaning technology was
configured as a portable system in the early 1970s. Early shot blast cleaning systems
were developed for cleaning airport runways and for ship deck applications such
as non-skid removal on aircraft carrier flight decks. An extensive line of systems
followed in later years and was quickly adopted by coating, painting and flooring
contractors as an option to chemical stripping and open blasting for use on commercial
and industrial jobs. Blastrac® systems became the industry standard for portable
shot blast cleaning.
