Question:
Our 1-9DEZ is blasting more on the right than on the left. Is there an adjustment we can make to the machine?
John Rippman:
Thank you for submitting your question to "Ask an Expert". There is a simple adjustment that you can make to change the blast pattern. You stated that the machine is blasting harder on the right side. Is that the operator’s position?

If so you will need to unplug the machine from the wall.

|
2.
|
Remove the flexible feed spout.

Note the control cage flange will have two notches on it. You will need to loosen the control cage clamps and rotate the control counterclockwise. Only move in 1/8" increments. 1/8" of rotation will move the center of the blast pattern approx. 1.5 inches.

Once adjusted, tighten the control cage clamps and reinstall the feed spout. Make another test pass and adjust further if necessary.

There is a decal on the front of the machine depicting proper control cage setting. Also, see below how to set the blast pattern section of the manual as well.
